Last Minute Prep Guide to the World Cup
We as fans have waited long enough, and this weekend the 2022 World Cup finally begins! This Sunday Qatar & Ecuador will kick off in the first match of the competition and fans from across the globe will get together to watch the opening ceremonies. If you forgot that the most exciting time of the year starts this weekend, or if you’re feeling behind on all of the excitement, no need to worry! We’re here to give you a last-minute preparation guide of everything you’re going to need and know over the next two months!
Review the Teams
Before it begins, you should review all of the 32 teams that will be competing this year. Even if your national team isn’t playing in the tournament, pick some teams and players that you’re going to cheer for! Are you going to cheer for Brazil or France who many believe will battle it out for the win, or maybe Canada and Wales who are the underdogs of the competition. Watch out for Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as this may be their last FIFA World Cup, but also don’t loose track of Vinicius Jr. (Brazil), and Joao Felix (Portugal) who are set to make their first ever appearance.
If you’re very dedicated to keeping track of the World Cup and need an easy way to do so, get a wall chart! The 2022 World Cup Wall Chart is the best way for you to prepare and keep track of all of the teams you’re interested in watching. It even includes the dates and times of the matches to save you from googling the information!
Where to Watch?
Have you and your friends made a schedule of when and where you’re going to watch your preferred matches? Plan out which games you want to watch, record and miss, and mark them all on your calendar. Here are some important dates you might want to know no matter what country you’re cheering for:
- Group Stage: November 20 – December 2
- Round of 16: December 3 – 6
- Quarterfinals: December 9 – 10
- Semifinals: December 13 – 14
- Third-place Match: December 17
- Final: December 18
Do you know how you’re going to watch the World Cup? Depending on where you live, TSN, ESPN, FOX Sports all will be televising the tournament, or you can live stream on Peacock TV, Fubo, Sling TV, or YouTube TV. Make sure you’ve got your TV satellite ready to go and your streaming services downloaded!
Have you planned your Snacks?
Head on over to the grocery store and stock up on all your go to snacks for game day! It’s better to have all your recipes and options prepped and planned so you can make sure you have all the proper ingredients.
