WWE SummerSlam
Did you know that this Saturday the 2023 WWE SummerSlam is happening? Well, we’re only a few days out from WWE’s biggest party of the summer with their 2023 installment of SummerSlam!
SummerSlam has been home to many of WWE’s best moments and fights, so we can only expect great things going into this year’s event. Whether you’re watching the event in person or from the comfort of your home, here’s a quick overview of what you need to know before the weekend begins!
What is SummerSlam?
WWE’s SummerSlam is dubbed as the Biggest Party of the Summer for WWE fans. SummerSlam is WWE’s second biggest pay-per-view event produced annually, behind WrestleMania, and brings fans together to catch some of the most memorable moments in wrestling.
Every August WWE puts on their SummerSlam event to host their biggest wrestling superstars and their ongoing storylines. Although WrestleMania is the biggest of the WWE events, there are many fans who believe that SummerSlam is the best pay-per-view WWE event because of the amount of in-ring action it has.
The 2023 edition is set to take place on Saturday, August 5 at Detroit, Michigan’s Ford Field. This will mark the most significant event to come to the Ford Field since WrestleMania 23. Many are saying that it’s highly likely that this year’s SummerSlam will come close to breaking the attendance record that Ford Field holds, but we’ll have to wait and see! Tickets for the event are close to selling out, with only a couple thousand still up for grabs.
Wondering how you can watch WWE SummerSlam? For our fellow Canadians, you can watch SummerSlam on the new WWE Network with a SportsNet Now subscription, or through your regular TV provider. In the U.S, you can catch the event on Peacock or your TV provider.
