The powerhouse team now has the opportunity to become the first side in English football history to win back-to-back Premier League and FA Cup Doubles when they face-off with Manchester United in the FA Cup finals.

Throughout this season’s Premier League matches there were many players whose talented and skilled performances left fans awestruck. From showstopping goals to perfectly executed assists, our favourite star players continuously proved why they’re considered the best in the world. Hometown hero, Phil Foden, couldn’t stay out of the spotlight even if he wanted to – he acted as the attacking heartbeat for Manchester City in the Premier League, contributing more than just goals to his team’s record-breaking win. Some other legendary players who played spectacularly this season are Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak, Martin Ødegaard, and Virgil van Dijk.

This season of the Premier League also saw the rise of promising young talent who made their mark on the league and showed fans a glimpse into the future of their teams. Despite all of the powerhouse players competing on the field, rising stars like Chelsea’s Cole Palmer still found their place in the spotlight this season. Palmer demonstrated his remarkable skills, playing at an electric pace with expert finishing earning him the league’s Young Player of the Season award. He won the honor over a star-studded line-up that included Bukayo Saka, Willian Saliba, Kobbie Mainoo, and Destiny Udogie.

One of the most exciting aspects of the Premier League competition for fans is to see which player takes home the Golden Glove! The Golden Glove award is presented to the goalkeeper who kept the most clean sheets in a single Premier League season. A ‘clean sheet’ refers to a full game in which a team doesn’t score a goal. The 2023-24 Premier League Golden Glove award was awarded to Arsenal goalkeeper, David Raya. The 28-year-old player has secured the honor during his debut season with the Arsenal team, having kept 15 clean sheets with two matches to play.

VAR Controversies

As with any modern soccer season, VAR (Video Assistant Referee) controversies were a hot topic of debate among fans, players, and teams throughout the Premier League. Through a season-long series of penalty-related errors, video-assisted refereeing became the most argued-over theme, sparking even more drama for fans.
