The 2024 Formula 1 season so far has been nothing short of thrilling, with adrenaline-fueled battles on the track and surprises at every turn. From intense races to astonishing victories, let’s take a look at some highlights from this month’s competitions and more information on the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix!

One of the most surprising wins of the season so far took place at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix, officially known as the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix 2024. This highly anticipated F1 motor race was held on May 5, 2024, at the Miami International Autodrome in Miami Gardens, Florida. It was the sixth round of the 2024 Formula One World Championship. From the stunning backdrop of the Miami city skyline to the intense battles on the track, the 2024 event was a grand spectacle that captivated fans around the world.

After a disappointing previous season for Red Bull Racing, they returned to the track with a bang, consistently challenging for podium finishes! The star driver representing Red Bull Racing with pride this season is none other than Max Verstappen. Verstappen has been a force to be reckoned with among his fellow competitors, showcasing his exceptional talent for speed and skill race after race. He even went on to win the sprint from pole position in the Miami Grand Prix event.

A strong competitor who has continued to impress in the 2024 Formula 1 season is McLaren, with Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris, forming one of the strongest driver pairings on the grid. In the Miami Grand Prix, Norris continuously showcased his determination to win, expertly maneuvering the challenging circuit layout which featured a mix of high-speed straights and tight corners. The up-front McLaren Racing driver Lando Norris claimed his maiden Grand Prix victory, ahead of Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen, with Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc coming in third.

Another competition that had fans on the edge of their seats was this weekend’s exciting Emilia Romagna Grand Prix event. It was held at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy from May 17th to 19th and marked the seventh round. The famous venue has previously hosted the Italian Grand Prix and 26 editions of the San Marino Grand Prix. This event was highly anticipated by fans after the 2023 Grand Prix was cancelled due to flooding in the region.

The 2024 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix event began with a rocky start when two changes to the grid had to be made leading up to the race. Oscar Piastri (McLaren) served a three-place grid penalty for impeding Kevin Magnussen (Haas) while he was starting his qualification lap. Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) started from the pit lane due to suspension changes that were made during parc fermé. The race began with Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen having a good start ahead of Lando Norris from McLaren. The rivalry between Verstappen and Norris made for a thrilling match, with both drivers pushing each other to their limits. Verstappen’s experience and Norris’ success in the Miami Grand Prix made for an electrifying battle on the track. By the time the checkered flag was waved, Norris finished in second place while Verstappen won the race by 0.725 seconds.

Now that you’re up to speed on the F1 season so far, be sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming 2024 Monaco Grand Prix event, which takes place over 78 laps of the 3.337-km Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo from May 24th to 26th. This race is known as the most iconic in all of Formula 1 and has a history of creating drama where you least expect it. For example, last year’s race featured a rainfall halfway through the course that managed to shuffle the track and resulted in unexpected wins and losses.

As the 2024 Formula 1 season progresses, the winner of the highly coveted championship title remains wide open. With a surplus of talented drivers and teams going head-to-head in every race, every competitor on the track has the potential to become F1 champions!
