Formula 1 2025 Season Wrap-Up

Formula 1 2025 Season Wrap-Up

The 2025 Formula 1 season was more captivating and unpredictable than anyone could have anticipated! The season-long battle all came to a thrilling conclusion this past weekend in the finale in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix where Lando Norris claimed his first title with a third-place finish. The McLaren driver finished on the podium, expertly managing his tires and maintaining his position through the final laps. While Max Verstappen, despite winning the race, fell just two points short of a fifth consecutive championship. Oscar Piastri also fell short, finishing second in Abu Dhabi and third in the championship overall!

Despite making the finale look effortless, Norris’ F1 season was anything but easy! He was tested over and over again in 2025, from crashes to high pressure moments, and pushback from Max Verstappen. Despite all of this, he still managed to secure his maiden World Championship title, earning praise not just from his team but also from his competitors. One of the most heartwarming reactions came from George Russel, his childhood rival who posted a photo of them together as kids to show how far they’ve both come since then. He captioned it: "I want to wish congratulations to Lando as he becomes World Champion. We’ve raced together for so long and he is more than deserving of the title. Hopefully we can battle on the track next year for the 2026 crown!" Norris' teammate and fellow title rival Piastri also had words of praise to share after the win: "I think he’s a very deserving winner, I know that every weekend I go on track, it’s going to be tough. And I think we’ve pushed each other through the last three years.”

Aside from the post-race celebrations, the 2025 Formula 1 season also showcased how much Lando Norris has transformed since last year. Norris opened up about his shift in mindset this season, when he decided to turn his “struggles into strengths” and the decisions the team made mid-season that had an impact on his success. Jolyon Palmer, James Hinchcliffe and Tom Clarkson also discussed the moment when Norris turned a 34-point deficit after round 15 into a full comeback which had fans in disbelief. The championship marks McLaren’s first drivers’ title since 2008 and completes a historic double after securing the constructors’ championship earlier in the season.

Not only did Lando Norris’ inspirational journey in the 2025 Formula 1 season come to a fitting conclusion, but fans are also replaying the most memorable moments from the season! Some of them include Hulkenberg finally getting a podium this year, Piastri’s heartbreak at spinning out during the Australian Grand Prix, Verstappen’s collision with George Russel in Spain, Hamilton claiming victory in the first Sprint of the 2025 season at the Chinese Grand Prix, and so much more!

Finally, the 2025 season was more than just another year of racing, it was a celebration of the sport’s legacy and has set the stage for an exciting 2026 season ahead. Until then, fans can look back on one of the most unpredictable seasons we’ve ever had and get ready for even more talent, emotional moments, and action-packed races when we’re back for another historic year of Formula 1!

What is the 2026 F1 Schedule?

The next season of F1 is back to the track with another 24-round campaign starting with the Australian Grand Prix on the weekend of March 6-8 and concluding with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from December 4-6. Ramadan will also be taking place in February and March, meaning the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix will be held in April. 2026 will be a new era for Formula 1 where we’ll witness a brand-new set of regulations for cars and engines that will be powered by 100% sustainable fuel. We’re also thrilled to welcome Madrid to the new calendar, and see huge brands like Audi, Cadillac, and Ford now joining the F1 grid.

Fans will also notice that the calendar has been changed to improve geographical flow with the Canadian Grand Prix following Miami in an earlier slot from May 22-24. This change has created a more efficient European summer leg by shifting the Monaco GP to June 5-7 and introducing the new Madrid Grand Prix from September 11-13. The championship then returns to Asia with the Azerbaijan and Singapore Grands Prix, ahead of a triple header in the Americas, before Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi close out the season.
