The countdown is officially on for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect! With the 2026 FIFA World Cup just around the corner this year, the world is already tournament-ready and the excitement doesn’t stop there. Every World Cup, whether it’s men’s or women’s, brings something new and exciting from new host nations to unforgettable moments. The 2027 edition of the Women’s World Cup tournament will mark the tenth in history, and for the very first time it’s heading to South America with Brazil hosting the grand spectacle!

Spain is entering the tournament as reigning champions after scoring their first title in 2023! While the United States comes with their own bragging rights, remaining one of the most successful nations in World Cup history with a whopping four titles won previously. The tournament will take place from June 24th to July 25th, 2027, giving fans an entire month of World Cup action to look forward to! The competition will feature 32 teams, making this the final Women’s World Cup played in the 32-team format before the expansion to 48 teams coming for the next edition in 2031. The format will remain the same with eight groups of four teams, with the top two from each group advancing to the Round of 16, followed by the Knockout stages. In total, 64 matches will be played throughout the entire tournament.

Saying fans are thrilled to hear about Brazil hosting the FIFA Women's World Cup for 2027 is an understatement! Not only is this the first ever WWC held in South America, but Brazil has a long and proud history of hosting major global events. Brazil will become the sixth country after Sweden, the United States, Germany, France, and Canada to host both the men's and women's World Cup. It’s also the first country to host eight different FIFA competitions, after hosting the 2016 Olympic football tournaments, the 2000 FIFA Club World Championship, the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup, the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup, and the first 3 three editions of the FIFA-organized Beach Soccer World Cup (2005, 2006, and 2007). Brazil knows how to deliver an unforgettable event on a global scale, and the 2027 Women’s World Cup brings unmatched energy!
